Does your patient need evaluation and treatment for substance use disorder?

Substance use disorder does not discriminate. Addiction affects people from every slice of life, regardless of age, social group, or profession. Likewise, a physician in any medical field may encounter patients with a problematic relationship with substances.

At NTE Health, we provide evaluation and treatment for your patients’ substance use disorder so you can focus on treatment of their other medical needs. We offer comprehensive outpatient treatment for addiction provided by a physician. Many, if not most, patients with substance use disorders can be treated in the outpatient setting.

What services does North Tampa Executive (NTE) Health Clinic provide?

We provide outpatient treatment of substance use disorder, emphasizing working professionals (though we are happy to treat any person seeking care). We are an informed consent clinic, meaning we meet patients where they stand now and only provide care they consent to receive. Therefore, we do not treat patients held involuntarily on Marchman acts or provide court-ordered treatment.

Treatment begins with stabilization and detoxification. This can include medically managed alcohol withdrawal, initiation on Suboxone therapy, or non-opioid assisted withdrawal.

Once stabilized and detoxified, the recovery phase begins. During this phase, patients begin cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) targeted at identifying and addressing the maladaptive thoughts and behaviors that underlie their substance use disorder. Patients may also receive medication-managed treatment using buprenorphine-based medications for opioid use disorder or naltrexone, acamprosate, and/or topiramate.

During the initial stabilization and detoxification phase, patients are treated in-office. Once stabilized, patients can attend treatment visits via a combination of in-office and telehealth visits.

Do you take insurance?

No, we are not in-network for any insurance. We accept payment directly from patients for a flat-fee annual treatment plan. We offer affordable monthly payment plans. Patients may also submit their bill for reimbursement from their insurance company on their own.

Overall, our fees are far more affordable than those of expensive inpatient drug treatment programs and certainly cheaper than the cost of untreated addiction. By operating a direct payment model, we are able to provide a higher level of care to our patients because there are fewer insurance roadblocks for patients.

How do I refer patients to you?

The process is simple! Call our clinic and request to speak with Dr. McGeachy. We can discuss the particulars of your patient’s case and arrange an initial evaluation, typically within 24 hours.

Alternatively, provide the patient with a brochure (call or email to request patient brochures) and instruct the patient to call the clinic to schedule an evaluation themselves.

Our office number is (813) 753-8836.

For 24-hour referrals, click the “Get Started” button at the top of the webpage to be taken to the self-scheduling webpage, where the patient themselves can schedule a discovery phone call, or you can assist them by inputting their contact information.

Do you accept patient referrals from the emergency department or urgent care?

Absolutely! At NTE Health, we recognize that patients typically present for addiction treatment when they are in a period of crisis. This leads many to seek care in the ED or at an urgent care clinic. Unfortunately, these patients do not understand that these clinical sites are rarely equipped to provide treatment for their substance use disorder.

Having an addiction treatment partner is a boon to the practicing emergency or urgent care physician. NTE Health is happy to be that partner. If you ever need to refer a patient for addiction treatment or have a question about managing substance use disorder, feel free to call us!

What exactly is North Tampa Executive Health?

Our clinic is unique from the standard addiction treatment program. We emphasize the physician-patient relationship and consider the treatment of substance use disorder to be no different from any other medical specialty. In short, we are a medical clinic that provides treatment for substance use disorder, not a drug rehab, detox, or methadone clinic.
