Education

Dr. McGeachy earned his medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine in 2015 and completed his residency at the University of South Florida. Since graduating residency in 2018, he has been practicing both emergency medicine and addiction treatment, combining his expertise to provide compassionate and effective care for those struggling with substance use disorders.

Holistic Approach to Treatment

At the heart of a successful clinic that treats addiction is a holistic approach that considers the whole person. This involves not just addressing the substance use itself but also the underlying issues that contribute to addiction. Services include:

  • Medical Detoxification: The first step in many treatment plans is detoxification, where patients are safely weaned off the substance they are dependent on. This process is supervised by medical professionals who can manage withdrawal symptoms and provide necessary medications.

  • Individual Counseling: One-on-one therapy sessions help patients explore the root causes of their addiction, develop coping strategies, and set goals for recovery. Therapists may use techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and other evidence-based practices.

  • Family Involvement: Addiction affects not only the individual but also their loved ones. Many clinics offer family therapy sessions to help repair relationships and educate family members about addiction and recovery.
