Addiction Treatment for Working Professionals

Working professionals face unique challenges when seeking treatment for substance use disorder. Despite the widespread recognition of substance abuse as a serious issue, many individuals still struggle with seeking help due to the stigma surrounding addiction and the fear of consequences at work. In this blog post, we will explore some of the key challenges faced by working professionals in their journey towards recovery.

  1. Stigma and Shame: Substance abuse is often stigmatized in society, and this can be especially true for working professionals who may feel that seeking treatment for addiction would harm their reputation at work. This stigma can cause individuals to keep their substance use hidden, making it harder for them to seek help.

  2. Fear of Losing their Job: One of the biggest concerns for working professionals is the fear of losing their job. Many people worry that seeking treatment for substance abuse will negatively impact their career, leading to termination or reduced opportunities for advancement. This fear can prevent individuals from seeking the help they need.

  3. Balancing Work and Treatment: Working professionals often have demanding schedules and responsibilities, making it difficult for them to find time to attend treatment and support groups. This can create a challenge for those who want to prioritize their recovery while also maintaining their work and other life commitments.

  4. Cost of Treatment: Substance abuse treatment can be expensive, and this can be a barrier for working professionals who may not have access to employer-sponsored health insurance or the financial resources to pay for treatment out-of-pocket.

  5. Access to Quality Treatment: Finding quality substance abuse treatment can also be a challenge for working professionals. With a limited amount of time to attend treatment, many individuals may not have the opportunity to research and find a program that meets their specific needs.

At North Tampa Executive Health, we pride ourselves on our ability to address the complex needs of working professionals who are seeking treatment for a substance use disorder.

Firstly, our clinic and the care we provide are discrete. Our clinic operates like any other medical clinic, rather than a drug treatment facility. Your care will be provided directly by Dr McGeachy, with regular visits just like one at a primary care office. From the outside, the clinic appears like any other and no one will know that you are receiving addiction treatment. All patient information is strictly confidential and not shared with any outside parties, like insurance companies or your employer; we only release records with your express consent. As an added advantage, you have the option to fill your prescriptions at our clinic dispensary rather than an outside pharmacy.

Our care is convenient and tailored to fit your schedule. We believe that the majority of patients can be successfully treated as an outpatient in the comfort of their own home, rather than being institutionalized as an inpatient. Our treatment plans are meant to be completed at home with periodic clinic and telehealth appointments. Many patients are able to participate in therapy while still working; at most, some patients may chose to take a few PTO or vacation days in order to cope with the worst period of withdrawal. The first month of treatment is the most intensive and may require multiple visits and telehealth appointments in the first week, but once stabilized most patients will see Dr McGeachy once or twice a month and these visits can be in person or telehealth.

Subscription Based Addiction Treatment

Our subscription based treatment model means that your diagnosis codes are not shared with your insurance company. Although most health information is protected against release by HIPAA, there are exceptions which allow insurance companies to share your diagnosis codes with other insurance companies and marketing partners, which compromises your confidentiality. Your diagnosis and treatment plan is safe with us, because we do not bill insurance and therefore are not required to share your personal details with them. We also have a zero tolerance policy against the release of confidential patient information by staff or other patients.

Our cost is out-of-pocket but overall is much lower than that of an inpatient detox or rehab stay. The annual cost is also certainly cheaper compared to the ongoing cost of using recreational drugs and alcohol or the loss of a career. Other clinics or substance treatment centers will nickel and dime you with dozens of ancillary services on top of expensive and disruptive inpatient stays. Our monthly rates are inclusive of all care required, with the exception of medication. Medications dispensed from the clinic are priced according to market rate as we see medication dispensing as a service to our patients rather than a source of profit. Alternatively, patients can opt to purchase medications through an outpatient pharmacy using cash or their insurance coverage.

We strive to provide valuable care for our patients with substance use disorder. Our approach is tailored to the unique challenges that working professionals face. Our treatment plan is unique in this way. That's why our motto is “Recovery On Your Own Terms.” If you are seeking treatment options now, please submit an inquiry through the contact link, email, call, or text to book an initial evaluation with Dr. McGeachy.

If you or someone you love is suffering from problematic drug or alcohol addiction use and is seeking treatment, contact the clinic by calling or clicking the “Get Started” button in order to schedule a discovery call and initial evaluation, both of which are free.

We are here to help.
